Hi Team,
மாலை வணக்கம் (maalai vaNakkam), Buenas Noches, and Good Evening from New York City.
I’ll be sharing a thing I did, a tweet I loved, and a thought I had.
A Thing ✍🏾
I published an essay titled How To Give Your All.
I used to float by in life and let it happen to me. One conversation changed the way I viewed effort, regret, and time. It completely changed my world.
And I’m never looking back.
A Tweet 🐦
Every time I hit publish without getting good eyes on it I regret it.
When I write, I am aiming to share my experiences and what I learned from it. I want you to see what is possible. From that, you can pick and choose what matters to you and what doesn’t.
If I forget to get it reviewed, I tend to let the scope expand and sometimes the point gets muddled.
And I want to give you the best I’ve got.
A Thought 💭
I’ve become acutely aware of how limited the time I have left in this life.
I’m 32 years old. I don’t have infinite time where my brain will work at this level. I know what matters to me.
Burning these precious brain cycles with unmotivated, unengaged folks feels like pissing in the wind. Conversely, working with curious, engaged people is magical.
In response to TTT 24: Intellectual Loneliness, my friend, Louie, highlighted a point I had overlooked:
“Can I just say at a META level your approach has been impeccable. Going out and learning Spanish so you can figure out how to learn other languages!!!!! I mean who thinks like that?!?!”
Applying the Mimic Method exercises for Spanish to Tamil felt so obvious to me. It’s easy for me to miss the angles of the accomplishments I make. It made me realize how remarkable this feat was.
It got me thinking, “If I spent more time on what matters to me, how much more progress could I make?”
My gut says I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface.
I'd love to hear any feelings you felt while reading this and until next time - be easy.
With Love,
Janahan
P.S. Thank you so much for reading the 26th edition of the TTT Newsletter.
100% Jay! Only scratching the surface. Excited to see you plumb the depths of your abilities on this writing journey.
