Congratulations Janahan! I released a small guide on Gumroad a year ago to get experience selling digital products.
What I like about your product is that it targets a group with a stable income and can afford such courses. In contrast, mine was made for developers looking for a job or people looking to switch to web development. This was one of the key takeaways from making my course.
The other is not to listen to loud, small groups of people. While my guide is titled "How to Build Better Portfolio Projects - as a web developer", it's my experience and my insights on what makes a developer portfolio stand out. Unfortunately, I gave too much credibility to people attacking this guide, saying it contains bad advice.
But I never said it's the only way to build better portfolio projects, and it's just my experience.
I believe the same applies to “How To Get Promoted Beyond Senior Engineer”, which I assume is not the only way to get promoted, but your experience.
It kind of happened by circumstance, I wanted to capture the advice I share with my coworkers. I'm sorry to hear that a small group of loud folks said that when you released your course. It's awesome that you have come to terms with how that played out. I bet your next course is gonna rock!
By the way, that point about how spoken language doesn't always map to written language... that's mind-blowing stuff I don't think most people realize.
I've been studying Japanese lately, and my Japanese teacher was talking about how most people who teach it do so by textbooks. But, the textbooks present Japanese in written form, which is different from how people speak day-to-day. So, many new learners are learning how to speak in a way that doesn't sound natural when spoken.
I was surprised when I first heard this, but it seems it applies to all kinds of languages. It's so cool to see others sharing in the same kinds of experiences in language learning.
Congratulations and amazing work, Janahan! So inspiring!
Appreciate the kind words, Sairam. I'm just tryna be like you :)

"I spotted this mini soccer field while walking the Manhattan bridge."
Alright, I've decided one day in the future, we gotta play on that field together.
Also, would love to hear some of that Spanish if you're looking to try it out on someone new--let's catch up sometime!
The mini field is calling our names. Let’s do it! Yes, let’s catch up (in Spanish). It’s been far too long
Congratulations.. inspiring
Thanks, Thunderclap! Happy to have you on the TTTTeam
Great to see you not only launch but also learning from this for the next launch.
I appreciate it, Requira!
Yeah I want to make sure the product has fit with its buyers. Super cool to methodically iterate to there
Congrats on the successful launch, Janahan!

Thanks, Alvin! So dope you've been there all along the way.
It's so non-obvious the writing and speaking disconnect. It's one of those things - until you're deep in it you can't appreciate.
Congratulation on launching your small bet!
Thanks, Michelle. Especially coming from the master of the small bet :)
Congrats on the launch, Janahan! Love the learnings you’ve shared.
“If I don’t track user outcomes, I’ll be blind to reality.” Great point!
It's just the tip of the iceberg. Thanks, Alexandra :)
