Even though Iβm not an architect, a lot of applicable points from me as a contractor. Iβd add that itβs not just decision making but also documenting the decision and reasoning in a living document thatβs key to institutional knowledge.
In 2017 I was offered this architect role in an organization I didn't accept. I knew I would code a lot less for more money, but somehow I didn't see that paying off in the long run.
So far, I only have upsides from how many different things I can do, and I'm really glad I didn't narrow myself down to this architect role.
Your video of echoing the melody of native speech is cool, Janahan! It brought another level of clarity to the whole practice of learning a new language you've been talking about. Very interesting stuff!

For sure. Most people are allergic to writing things down.
To me thatβs an anathema. If you donβt write things down, youβve not thought things through. π

Big agree. Glad you made the right choice for you.
Luckily I've been able to code through my time here. It feels like something I'm more in control of and enjoy too :)

If it wasn't so tragically painful, this would have been funny.
Sending hugs
I need to learn how to not care when the other side doesn't. It's tougher than it seems -_-
I'm practicing a kind of "letting go" but not in a depressive, resignation way. It's an attitude. Not a technique.
Easy to go back to my default attitude which leads too easily getting upset.
Gonna take a bit of practice. Nice to know weβre not alone on this
Agree
And no one static, permanent, catch-all solution either
Loved this issue!
Thanks, Vic! What'd ya love about it?

Thanks, Alvin! I'll try to include more videos for language work because showing > telling :)
